About the sikh Turban

The Sikh Turban(commonly know as a dastar in Punjabi) is the religious head covering and the identity of Sikh man.Sikhs consider the turban a gift from the guru(religious master).It was passed down by the 10th guru,Guru Gobind Singh Ji on Vaishaki day in 1699.At that time,the turban was only worn by the kings and the honorary people as a crown.The Sikh turban represents respectability and nobility.It is every Sikh mans honor and duty to wear the turban with pride and responsibility.And most of all,represent the Sikh religion around the world.
